Induction
Every employee
is inducted by Neptune Building Services Ltd upon their
commencement. This induction includes instruction of their
responsibilities to the company and the companies responsibilities
towards them.
This initial
induction also includes instruction on the health and safety
standards that we set and how we achieve them, along with
information on the work that they will be carrying out, our
structure and the supervision aspects.
Each employee
also receives an annual safety induction with re-instruction on
responsibilities, information on the latest health and safety
regulations and a reflection on the works carried out during the
previous year.
Training
On a quarterly
basis the training file is reviewed and renewals, new employees and
job changes are reviewed with a report issued to the health and
safety committee for further training requirements.

CSCS Skillcards
Neptune Building Services Limited have recently
achieved Platinum status from CSCS Skillcard and 98%
of our direct M&E labour workforce are skillcarded,
both at office and site level.
In
addition to this, all labour only and supply & fit
sub-contractors must satisfy our pre-qualification
procedures before commencing work on site. Their
training, insurance details and CSCS skillcards are
recorded and monitored to ensure they are kept up to
date. Over 80% of our current sub-contract labour (M&E)
are skillcarded, with the remainder awaiting
certification.
Monitoring
Our independent Health & Safety Advisors (H&G
Construction Safety Association Limited) carry out
site inspections on a monthly basis and provide an
itemised report with their findings. Relevant
information is passed to all responsible parties
including the main contractor and the Neptune staff
involved in that project (both management and site
operatives).
Any issues will be dealt with in the first instance by
the Contracts Manager for that project and then an
action report is forwarded to the in-house Health &
Safety Committee for discussion at the next quarterly
meeting. All reports and actions are logged for future
use and to help form the basis of the company Annual
Induction Training and weekly Toolbox Talks.
Feedback
Over and above
the daily responsibility of the site staff to report any concerns to
their direct supervisor, on a monthly basis as part of the
monitoring process, all attending Neptune site staff including
sub-contractors are involved in a site tool box talk which includes
instruction on any indicated problems and any feed back on safety
issues.
Management
The safety
structure is as follows:

The responsibility of the safety committee is to
review the H&G Safety Association monthly site
reports and take appropriate action where necessary
to arrange for additional training via courses or
staff inductions, review accident statistics and
safety structure performance and provide the finance
and infrastructure required to action as necessary.
Summary
By constantly reviewing our system/records Neptune
Building Services is striving to improve building
site Health and Safety levels and reduce
accidents/risks experienced in the industry.
